Welcome to Chaing Mai, Thailand
Checking in to the Dhara Dhevi is a step back in time to an ancient Thai village, complete with temples, rice fields and stunning architecture. To say that the resort is expansive would be understating, and many guests took the opportunity to ride bikes around the property, discovering fascinating sights and nooks around every corner. After a bit of settling in after our short flight and expedited service through the Chiang Mai airport, we enjoyed a cocktail reception with a sampling of authentic Thai street food. Dinner was served in a wonderfully private setting and we were thrilled by traditional Thai dancers. After dinner, a special treat awaited as we released lanterns into the night, our best hopes and prayers riding skyward with these ethereal lights. It was quite a sight, and a fabulous welcome to Thailand!
